Ebony Thomas - press photography

A schoolgirl has lost five stone after being becoming 'too fat' to play netball with her friends.
Ebony Thomas, 15, was left off the school team after her weight ballooned to 16st 3lb and she was considered morbidly obese.
Feasting on pizza, chips and chocolate, Ebony from Blaenau Gwent, South Wales, became morbidly obsese after eating more than 3,000 calories a day.

Nikon 300mm f4 VR - press photography

I was lucky to get my hands on one of the first Nikon 300mm F4 VR lenses that reached the UK.

It is a great lens for press and conference photography. It's as small as the Nikon 24-70 so it's very easy to work discretely. I'd previously owned the 300 2.8 - a great but bulky lens - but ditched it in favour of  a 500f4 and Nikon's new 300f4. I find f4 lenses are much more manageable, particularly with the low noise of new cameras.

Here are a few pictures from my first weekend with it.
